Your Reports

More Info

Mysitevisitors provides you with 4 main styles of reporting options:

Real Time Notifications

Your Real-Time Notifications deliver instant alerts of new companies visiting your website.

They are automatically set up to be received by the first user on the account.

However, to set up a Real-Time Notification for an alternative user, simply select the ‘+ Add Recipient’ icon and choose your user.

To help you exclude irrelevant notifications, you can select only the specific visiting country or countries you would like to receive these alerts for.

Scheduled Reports

If live notifications are not required for a user, Scheduled Reports offer more flexibility and will send you an email of visiting companies at a time you choose, for a period you want, with all of the relevant data in a concise CSV file.

Companies by Channel

This Report will group your identified companies by the referral source.

You can select a date range in the top right corner to view activity over a chosen period of time.

This information can be downloaded used for Marketing Reports and Insights to various campaigns.

Companies by Search Term

Where possible, Whoisvisiting will show you how many companies have been identified from specific search terms.

These SEO Insights can be viewed and exported to guide your Content Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation focus.

Trigger Reports

More Info

Trigger Reports help you to filter through the noise of your website visitors and create automation outside of the dashboard to deliver notification of the most important or pre-qualified companies.

Now that you have your Tracking Page set up with the appropriate Domain and or Search Match Type, you can add new reports accessible through the Settingsdropdown

Triggers can also be added directly from within the Tracking Pages section by selecting the  ‘Add Trigger’ action.

Select the Add Report Button to begin creating your custom notification.

You can select your Tracking Page or enter a specific Landing Page / Page URL.

There are many options for your custom Trigger Reports based on when and how you want to receive the information and data:

Notification Settings

Visitor Type

Location

Referral

Behaviour

Applying any of these settings gives you and your team automatic notification to the email address when matching the criteria chosen.

Setting Up New Tracking Pages

More Info

https://www.site.com/products/product2/hire-product2
https://www.site.com/products/product3/hire-product3

https://www.site.com/products/product-name-2

——————————————————————————————

Search Match Type

If you are tagging URLs with custom campaign variables to track your marketing activity, referrals or paid advertising campaigns, you need to set the Search Match Type condition.

Exact

This option will match the exact variables from your URL parameters.
If you want to leave a variable as ‘anything’, you can set the chosen utm to = *.

Installing Mysitevisitors On Your Website

More Info

Once you have signed up for a 14-Day Free Trial, you will need to place a tracking code on your website to start identifying businesses.

Within your dashboard, go to the Settings dropdown of the Main Menu and select </> Tracking Code.

Place the following code which you see into the <head> section of your website HTML on any page that you want to track.

We ask that you put this in top of the <head> to reduce risk of visitors not being monitored due to on-site code. However, including this code in the <body> region should still work provided the website has no script breaking errors.

As soon as it is installed successfully you will start to receive notifications of companies visiting your website.

You can test this has been successfully activated by visiting a page on your website then refreshing your Dashboard.

The Code Not Installed status next to you domain name in the top left corner should no longer be visible.

Note:

Due to the way
Wix websites render their webpage’s the standard tracking code may not work. The code you will see has been created with Wix and services like Wix in mind.

If you are using a CMS like WordPress, Shopify or Magento, follow our installation guide for help with installing.

The Invitation will then show within Pending Invites until
the user has activated the response from their email.

Why Does Google Analytics/Adwords Show Me More Visits Than Mysitevisitors?

More Info

This is a common confusion for our customers. Basically what we show are companies only that have a static IP address assigned to them. If someone at home visits you, your adwords/analytics account will show you as having a visitor. However, the reality is that the information attached to such visitors will be of no value to you and because they are on a dynamic IP there are laws in place to prevent personal data being obtained via this method.

When a company visits you with a static IP that is assigned to themselves (most businesses in the world use an assigned static IP) we can then give you the details of this company so that you have the ability to contact them and tender for business if they are a company that you feel you could work with.

GDPR - Mysitevisitors Compliance

More Info

“On 25 May 2018 most processing of personal data by organisations will have to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation”

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding the topic of GDPR as we fast approach the deadline.

With so much vague, ambiguous and contradictory content being produced on the subject, it has created a lot of complication and at times panic for businesses who aren’t quite sure just as to how GDPR will influence their day-to-day working environments.

This notice intends to deliver reassurances of what Mysitevisitors users need to know in relation to the software and business organisation.

Just like the Data Protection Act 1998, the GDPR deals with personal data – data relating to a living individual rather than a corporate entity.

The GDPR includes the following rights for individuals:

  • the right to be informed;
  • the right of access;
  • the right to rectification;
  • the right to erasure;
  • the right to restrict processing;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to object; and
  • the right not to be subject to automated decision-making including
  • profiling.

Whoisvisiting Software

At Mysitevisitors.com we are well aware of the incoming GDPR guidelines and have been preparing our company for full compliance with these law changes as of May 2018.

We would like to clarify that Mysitevisitors as a software is fully compliant with the GDPR requirements.

Essentially, the GDPR introduction has the intention and purpose of protecting the privacy of individual EU citizens. The information provided by website visitor tracking is not relevant to the GDPR legislation which focuses on the protection of individuals details and privacy.

An IP address on its own is not personal data. This is because it is focused on a computer and not the individual using that device. In addition, we only provide business related (B2B) leads through to you and therefore the opportunity to reach out to these businesses is the same as any other marketing approach you may take when reaching out.

As a tool which enables you to learn more about the businesses visiting your website, there is no conflicting association with the GDPR. With relevance and legitimate interest at the forefront of the GDPR structure, website visitor tracking becomes more significant in this situation.

Inbound marketing has an even greater influence than ever before as it is the clearest way to qualify interest and relevance. Marketing towards a business who have displayed a level of interest is completely justifiable and in-line with the law and matches the agenda of the process.

Processor of Personal Data

In terms of being a processor of personal data, we will be ensuring that all of our channels are reflective of the necessary procedures across all elements of our business structure.

Following the key steps recommended by the ICO:

Awareness –

Mysitevisitors has made sure that decision makers and key people in our organisation are aware that the law is changing to the GDPR. And all have appreciated the impact could potentially have on the business.

The Information Held –

Mysitevisitors ensures to document all personal data held, where it came from and who it is shared with.

Communicating Privacy Information –

We have reviewed our current privacy notices and put a plan in place for making any necessary changes in time for GDPR implementation.

Individuals’ Rights –

Mysitevisitors has attended our procedures to ensure we cover all the rights individuals have, including how we would delete personal data or provide data electronically and in a commonly used format.

Subject Access Requests –

Mysitevisitors has updated our procedures and made plans for how we will handle requests within the new timescales and provide any additional information.

Lawful Basis for Processing Personal Data –

We have a lawful basis for processing data activity and have updated our Privacy Policy to reflect this.

Consent –

We have reviewed how we seek, record and manage consent.

Data Breaches –

Mysitevisitors has made sure we have the right procedures in place to detect, report and investigate a personal data breach.

Data Protection by Design and Data Protection Impact Assessments –

We have familiarised ourselves now with the ICO’s code of practice on Privacy Impact Assessments as well as the latest guidance from the Article 29 Working Party, and work out how and when to implement them in our organisation.

Data Protection Officers –

We have designated someone to take responsibility for data protection compliance and assess where this role will sit within your organisation’s structure and governance arrangements.

International –

As an organisation operating in more than one EU member state (ie carry out cross-border processing), we have determined our lead data protection supervisory authority.
